Pirates, romance, and twists oh my! I absolutely LOVED this book! I’ve never read a book about pirates or dredgers so I was a little worried about how I would feel about it, but it’s definitely one of my favorite fantasy books! There were also so many twists and turns that really propelled the story along and kept the reader guessing at all times! After the major cliffhanger at the end, I cannot wait to read the next and final installment in this duology!!

Likes:
🏴‍☠️Fast paced story but doesn’t feel like you miss any information

🏴‍☠️The cliffhanger was insane and will definitely make you want to pick up the next book

🏴‍☠️Found families among the crew

🏴‍☠️Fable was a fiery and fierce protagonist

🏔Monday Maas🏔
Q: What book characters would be in your ultimate “found family?”

Happy Monday! The “found family”trope is very popular in Fantasy books and although it might be overrated to some people, I love it! Some of my favorite found families are, the Inner Circle from ACOTAR, the Rampion Crew from The Lunar Chronicles, and the Crows from Six of Crows!

My ultimate found family would be Aelin Galathynius, Sam Cortland, Azriel, Nesta Archeron, Kaz Brekker, Inej Ghafa, Katniss Everdeen, Edward Cullen, and Scarlet Benoit! Each of these characters are special to me for different reasons and I think they would be the best found family!

📚Favorite Grishaverse Quotes📚
Q: What is your favorite Grishaverse quote?

Happy Thursday!! We have only ONE more day until we get to see Shadow and Bone on screen and I could not be more excited!! There are so many quotes and characters that I can’t wait to see! The main one being, The Darkling! If you know me, you know that to say that I am obsessed with The Darkling would be an understatement. (I definitely would’ve said yes if a morally grey ruler gave me a black Kefta and asked if I wanted to rule the world with him 😉) I have so many quotes that I can’t wait to hear the cast bring to life but here are a few of my favorites!

“Fine. Make me your villain”

“You and I are going to change the world”

“My ghost won’t associate with your ghost”

“No mourners, no funerals”

💄The Hating Game💄
Q: What book do you want to see on screen?

Happy Monday friends! I have been obsessing over The Hating Game trailer since it came out last week! I read this book last April when it was starting to get some hype on booksta! I ended up finishing it in 4 hours and I read it again about a week or two later! I’ve read it another time since then and I’m now planning to start my fourth reread of this book! I instantly fell in love with Josh and Lucy and their sizzling chemistry! The trailer actually looks pretty similar to the book which I’m very excited about!

I’d love to know what you think about the cast and trailer? Are you doing a reread before the movie releases?

🧶Author Spotlight🧶
Q: Which one should I start with?

Happy Tuesday friends! I’m on Thanksgiving break this week which means more reading time hopefully! I’m hoping to start one of these books soon!

I found Real Men Knit on Bookoutlet and grabbed it because I have heard so many good things about it! It reminds me of The Bromance Bookclub which I loved so I have a feeling it’ll be great! For November I picked How to Marry Keanu Reeve’s in 90 Days and the cutesy cover and adorable synopsis makes this one seem like an amazing book! I’ve heard really awesome things about both of these books and this author so I am super excited to hopefully get to these soon or at least over Christmas break!

Have you read these? Which should I start with?

📱In My Digital Reading Era📱

Hey friends! Long time, no reading. The past year, I have spent getting acclimated to college life, living on my own, and pursuing my degree in Digital Marketing! Last week I finally finished my first book of 2023, Icebreakers by Hannah Grace. I adored this book so much and found myself on a reading high. I scoured KU for my next read, not wanting to let this moment of wanting to read dissipate, and picked up Behind the Net by Stephanie Archer!! I ended up flying through this book in one day and loving it!! See below for my star ratings for both of these books 📖

As I slowly get back into Booksta, I can’t promise to post super regularly or even read 10 more books by the end of the year. I’m taking things slow and reading as I want. However, I would love all the hockey romances I can get. Or if you see any good books on my kindle, let me know what I should start with!! 🏒🥅⛸️

The Layover by Lacie Waldon is such a fun summer read! It follows two flight attendants, Ava and Jack as they end up stuck in Belize on a layover. This enemies to lovers is perfect for people who loved Shipped or The Unhoneymooners!

What I enjoyed:

🌺It was really interesting learning about the BTS of a flight
🌺The tropical setting was amazing!!

What I disliked:
✈️The action didn’t start until a little over halfway through the book

💜💛💚Mardi Gras Stack💜💛💚
Q: Have you ever been to Mardi Gras?If so, what was your favorite part about it?

Happy Wednesday! Mardi Gras happened to fall on the same release date as ACOSF, so this post is a little belated!

Have you ever been to Mardi Gras? I haven’t been yet, but I would love to go someday. My favorite part of Mardi Gras has always been the Jazz music! As a trumpet player myself, I have a deep appreciation and love for all things Jazz! Hopefully once everything goes back to normal, I’ll get to experience Mardi Gras in person!

This was the third installment in the Shatter Me series and I think it might’ve been my favorite! I now have two very special places in my heart for Aaron Warner and Kenji Kishimoto!! This third installment was originally the finale of the series and it definitely read like it. I am going to pick up the rest of the series soon because I fell in love with this amazing cast of characters and their special powers!

What I liked:
📚Aaron and Kenji
📚Super sarcastic characters
📚Characters had special powers
📚Juliette was brave on her own and knew she could save herself in her story

Read if:
📚You want a fun sci-fi series
📚You loved The Hunger Games
📚You want a fun enemies to lovers book

📚May Wrap Up📚

Happy Tuesday friends!! It’s a little late but I’m finally posting my May wrap up!! May was an okay reading month for me. I was insanely busy with end of the year schoolwork and didn’t have a lot of time for reading. Despite that, I still managed to work in some amazing books and find a new series for the favorites shelf! I’m hoping to get back on track for my yearly reading goal in June and to read some amazing books!
